Helping you relax at the dentist’s office.
Visiting the dentist can be a scary proposition for any child and the parent. However, our office was designed specifically for kids. We have incorporated child-friendly elements that will provide for a relaxing and comfortable environment. From the moment your child walks in, they will sense that this is no ordinary doctor’s office and we are here to have fun. Our reception area is filled with sensory toys, a giant Lite-Brite wall, and arcade games. Once they are seated in the dental chair, they will have access to a myriad of shows and movies on a smart TV above their chair. And of course, every child leaves with a goody bag filled with prizes and a fun toothbrush.
While the goal is to provide a fun and entertaining environment to distract your child from any fear of the dentist they may have, we recognize that some children may need additional assistance to get comfortable and relax. That’s why we offer laughing gas and general anesthesia.
Nitrous oxide
Nitrous oxide, which is better known as laughing gas, is a common and light form of sedation that is very safe and effective for patients who experience mild anxiety. While breathing in the nitrous oxide during the procedure, your child will remain conscious and responsive throughout. Your child may describe a feeling of floating or tingling. Once the treatment is done, the effects of the nitrous oxide will diminish rapidly.
General Anesthesia
In certain situations, nitrous oxide may not be enough. In children with extreme dental fear, special health care needs, or who need complex and lengthy dental treatment, general anesthesia may be the appropriate treatment. We have a wonderful anesthesiologist who administers the anesthesia and monitors your child throughout the procedure.
